- Input
- Fresh or frozen whole berries in the agreed container format; dried berries need a separately specified inspection arrangement.
- Output
- Inspected fruit and a separately collected reject stream.
A receiving hopper or container interface feeds an inspection conveyor. Transfer heights, belt access and collection points are laid out around the berry condition and the operators who inspect it.
What determines the configuration
Sorting duty
Define stems, leaves, foreign matter and damaged fruit to remove. Visual sorting does not replace the incoming-lot acceptance programme.
Weighing
Keep gross receiving weight, packaging tare and rejected fruit as separate records.
Installation interfaces
Floor level, incoming containers, drainage, operator access and the downstream washer determine the transfer arrangement.
Cleaning & maintenance access
Provide access beneath belts and around rollers; inspect product-trapping ledges and avoid sending sorting debris into the washer.
